I recently got married in Jamaica and this was my go-to drink. Whether I was lounging on the beach or dancing the night away this tropical cocktail wasn't far out of reach.
The best part is this cocktail can easily be adjusted to your taste buds. Like things on the sweeter side? A heavy use of grenadine syrup will do the trick. Like the perfect balance? Follow the recipe. Like a sour punch? Add more fresh lime juice.
Pair this punch with a Captain Jack Sparrow Rum Cocktail for a Pirates of the Caribbean movie night. They will instantly transport you to the Caribbean Islands for the night.
🌟Why You'll Love this Recipe
- Simple ingredients. This Jamaican punch is made with fresh juices and 2 types of rum that are easy to find.
- Adult fruit punch. This fruity drink consists of delicious fresh tropical fruit juices making it the perfect adult alternative to fruit punch.
- Easily adjustable. You can easily tweak the ingredients in this recipe to appeal to your taste buds.
🥘Ingredients and Substitutions
I don't recommend swapping out any of the fresh juices as this is what makes a traditional rum punch. Feel free to tweak it how you like though.
- White rum and dark rum. The perfect Jamaican rum punch has a balance of 2 different rums but they can easily be switched out for your favorite spiced rum, light rum, or dare I say tequila. Though it will be closer to a tequila sunrise than a rum punch.
- Pineapple juice. You can juice your own pineapple or buy it in a can, just make sure it doesn't contain added sugar.
- Orange juice. Freshly squeezed orange juice or bottled will both work.
- Grenadine. Can be swapped out for cranberry juice or cherry syrup.
- Lime juice. Always use freshly squeezed lime juice as you do in my skinny piña coladas and cucumber mojitos.

💭Recipe FAQs
1. Good Jamaican rum
2. Jamaican fruit punch syrup
3. Fresh tropical juices
You can batch and make this Caribbean rum punch recipe ahead of time. The hard liquor prevents the juices from deteriorating, making it safe to keep for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
You will need a dark rum and a white rum. Popular choices are Wray & Nephew, Myers's rum, and Mount Gay. You can opt to use a spiced rum for an extra Caribbean kick as well. I prefer Appleton Estate rum. Wray & Nephew is very strong overproof rum so don't go overboard with this.
