This roasted broccoli is one of the simplest side dishes to make in the oven. The broccoli gets perfectly crisp on the edges and pairs well with just about any dinner. It's a quick side dish made with just a few basic ingredients, and is perfect for busy weeknights when you need an easy vegetable that actually tastes good.

Tender florets with crispy tips and perfectly seasoned, this oven-roasted broccoli recipe is sure to become your go-to. If you've ever wondered what temperature is best for roasting broccoli, I use 425°F for the best golden, crispy results in about 20 to 25 minutes.
If you're looking for more ways to enjoy broccoli, try it in a broccoli noodle salad, creamy broccoli pasta, or broccoli cheddar soup.

See the recipe card below for the remaining ingredients and quantities.
Substitutions & Variations
- Add parmesan. Sprinkle parmesan over the broccoli before roasting for a crisp cheesy coating, or add it after roasting for a salty finish.
- Add some heat. Sprinkle red pepper flakes before serving.
- Add bacon. Crispy bacon enhances anything it's added to.
- Serve with dressing. Ranch, Caesar, or a yogurt-based dip works well for picky eaters.
Instructions

- Step 1: Turn the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, if preferred. Line the broccoli florets on the baking sheet in a single layer, then sprinkle with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

- Step 2: Bake for 20-25 minutes until soft and golden brown. Serve and enjoy!
Sarah's Top Tips
- Eat fresh from the oven. You can do the prep work for this recipe ahead of time, but I recommend eating it right from the oven.
- Cut in bite-size even pieces. Cut your broccoli into uniform bite-sized pieces to ensure an even cook.
- Don't overcrowd the pan. Be sure to spread your florets out to promote the desired crispy exterior.
- Proper roasting times. 350°F for 30-35 minutes, 375°F for 25-30 minutes, 400°F for 18-22 minutes, 425°F for 14-18 minutes.

Air Fryer Roasted Broccoli
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F. Toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Place the broccoli in a single layer in the air fryer. Do not overcrowd to ensure even cooking. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Broccoli should be golden brown and crispy on the edges.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this roasted broccoli with easy weeknight mains like chicken alfredo with linguine or one-pan Tuscan chicken. If you want another simple vegetable side, try my roasted vegetable medley, honey roasted carrots, or sweet and salty Brussels sprouts.
Storage & Reheating
Store leftover broccoli in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven for about 10 minutes or in the microwave for 1 minute.
I don't recommend freezing roasted broccoli but instead using frozen broccoli for this and other recipes.
