This Dutch Oven Apple Crisp recipe is the best fall dessert! Sliced apples and cranberries are topped with a sweet cinnamon oat topping. This apple crisp is dairy-free and is a must-make for the holiday season.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a Dutch oven with cooking spray.
Filling
Add the sliced apples, cranberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, lemon juice, brown sugar, flour and salt to a large bowl. Mix to combine using a spoon or your hands.
Add the apple and cranberry filling to the bottom of the Dutch oven.
Crisp Topping
In a large bowl, combine all of the topping ingredients and mix well until combined.
Place the topping over the filling in the Dutch oven, making sure to even it out. Bake for 45-50 minutes until slightly golden.
Let cool for a few minutes, serve warm and enjoy!

Notes
I recommend using a mix of sweet and tart apples. The cranberries will also provide their own tartness to this recipe.
Use a large Dutch oven, I recommend one that is 10-12 inches in size. You can also use a larger cast iron pan.
This recipe would be great to make on a camping trip or any other time you are cooking over an open fire.
Slice the apples thinly so they cook completely and are soft when you dig in.
To reheat, you can put the Dutch oven back into the oven at 350 degrees F for about 10 minutes or at 200 degrees F if you wish to heat it while enjoying a meal. Just keep an eye on it so the topping doesn't burn! You can also heat individual servings in the microwave for 30 seconds-1 minute.
