This Cherry Galette recipe is easier to make than a standard cherry pie, and just as tasty! Impress your guests with this elegant dessert. A mixture of sweet cherry filling and store-bought flaky buttery pie crust, it can be prepped in just 20 minutes!
In a large bowl, mix the cherries together with the lemon juice, brown sugar and cornstarch.
On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, lay out the pie crust.
Add the filling to the center of the pie crust leaving 2-3 inches on the outside.
Gently fold the pie crust over the edges.
Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Allow to cool for 20-30 minutes before slicing. Serve as is or with vanilla ice cream.

When baking with frozen fruit, don't thaw it ahead of time.
Allow the pie crust to come to room temperature before rolling it out to prevent tearing.
Place your galette on the lowest rack while cooking to prevent the pie crust from burning.
