Add the potatoes and a pinch of salt to a Dutch oven or large pot and cover with 1 inch of water. Boil the potatoes for 20-25 minutes.

Place the potatoes on a sheet pan or other flat clean surface and use the bottom of a glass or potato masher to gently smash each potato.

Drizzle potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
