Quick and simple chili lime shrimp tacos. This easy recipe packs a punch and comes together in 20 minutes for the perfect weeknight meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound wild caught shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ lime juiced
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Trader Joe's chili lime seasoning*
  • Romaine butterhead or green leaf lettuce
  • 1 avocado peeled and sliced
  • Salsa
  • Cilantro optional for garnish
  • Lime wedges optional for garnish
  • Corn tortillas

Instructions

  • Marinate shrimp in olive oil, lime juice and spices. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until cooked through. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp. Once they start curling into a "c" shape, they are done.
  • Meanwhile, heat tortillas (if desired) over an open flame for approximately 30 seconds per side or on a lightly oiled non-stick skillet over medium-high heat for 30 seconds per side.
  • Assemble tacos by adding lettuce, 3-4 shrimp, avocado and salsa to each tortilla.
  • Garnish with cilantro and lime wedges and enjoy!

Notes

*Substitute 1 teaspoon of chili powder and ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
