Air fryer frozen Brussels sprouts are the weeknight vegetable that actually works. No soggy middles and no 45-minute oven wait. Just golden, caramelized edges and fork-tender insides in about 20 minutes, straight from the freezer. The key is cooking them in a single layer so steam can escape and allow them to get crispy.

Frozen Brussels sprouts are honestly one of my favorite things to throw in the air fryer on a busy weeknight. I started making these when I needed something fast and green on the table without heating the whole oven, and they've been on regular rotation ever since. If you love Brussels sprouts done right, my Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts are worth saving for the days when you have a little more time to spend at the stove.

Key Ingredients

- Brussels sprouts. A 12-16 oz package of frozen Brussels sprouts fits perfectly in most air fryers. Many grocery stores sell bags of pre-trimmed and washed Brussels. If you're cooking for a crowd, plan to do two batches rather than cramming everything in at once.
- Seasonings. Salt, black pepper, and garlic powder are the base. You can add anything additional that you may want: smoked paprika for a little depth, cayenne for heat, chili powder for a smoky-spicy kick.
See the recipe card below for the remaining ingredients and quantities.
Instructions

- Place the frozen Brussels sprouts in a large mixing bowl with oil and spices. Toss to combine.

- Transfer to the air fryer tray or basket and cook at 400 degrees F for 12-15 minutes, or until crispy and fork-tender. Serve with additional salt, pepper, or parmesan!
Sarah's Top Tips
- Single layer. This is the one rule that determines whether your sprouts come out crispy or soggy. Stacked sprouts can't release steam properly, and that moisture is what keeps them soft. Spread them out so every sprout has contact with the basket and hot air moving around it.
- Want even crispier edges? Salt after. The recipe as written calls for salting before cooking and it works well. But if you really want to maximize crispiness, try holding the salt until the sprouts come out of the air fryer. Salt draws out moisture before cooking, and that little bit of extra moisture is enough to soften the edges slightly. It's a small tweak, but worth trying if crispiness is the priority.
- All air fryers are different. Use the 12- to 15-minute window as a guide, not a guarantee. Smaller air fryers run hotter; larger ones may need an extra minute or two. You're looking for outsides that are golden and visibly caramelized with edges that are starting to get a little dark.
- Cook from frozen. Don't thaw them first. Thawed Brussels sprouts release a lot of moisture all at once, which creates steam in the basket and works against the crispy result you're after. Straight from the freezer is the right call every time.

Serving Suggestions
These Brussels sprouts are one of those easy dinner side dishes that quietly make everything on the plate better. They're sturdy enough to hold up next to rich proteins and bright enough to balance something heavy.
I love serving them alongside my harissa chicken because the smoky spice in the chicken plays really well off the caramelized edges of the sprouts. For a simple weeknight pairing, pan-seared pork loin steaks come together in about 10 minutes, making the whole dinner feel effortless.
For the holidays, these are the side dish that frees up your oven for the main event. They belong on the same table as cranberry orange chicken thighs or roasted Cornish hens.
Storage & Reheating
Fridge: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 days.
Reheat: The air fryer or oven at 350°F is the best way to bring back some of the crispiness. The microwave works in a pinch, but the sprouts will soften.

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions

Sarah's Tips
- Remember all air fryers are made differently. When making any air fryer recipe, I'd recommend using the times in the recipe as a guide. Depending on your air fryer model, your Brussels sprouts may need additional cook time. You'll know they are ready when you can easily pierce them with a fork and the outsides are nice, golden, and crisp.
- Avoid overfilling the basket. Adding in several layers of Brussels sprouts will cause them to steam instead of getting crispy. If you are hoping for the best, crispy sprouts, you must cook them in a single layer.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
- I recommend reheating in the air fryer or oven at 350 degrees until warm for the best results. If you reheat in the microwave the sprouts may become soggy.
